Lauren Stevenson, Psy.D.

Dr. Stevenson completed her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. Dr. Stevenson received extensive Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT) training early in her graduate career at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, under the supervision of Lynn McFarr Ph.D. She has applied her knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy to treat individuals across a wide range of clinical settings, including outpatient therapy clinics, Harbor-UCLA’s substance abuse clinic, forensic mental health hospitals, and the Child and Family Development Center in Azusa, California.

 

 

Dr. Stevenson completed an American Psychological Association-Accredited Internship at the Federal Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. During her fellowship she was trained in third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Borderline Personality Disorder. Dr. Stevenson’s clinical focus has been to use cognitive-behavioral therapy for the treatment of a wide range of anxiety, mood, and depressive disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, depression, and issues related to self-esteem and body image. Dr. Stevenson also has extensive specialized experience with the CBT treatment of anger control issues, and the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance abuse and addiction.
