CBT SoCal’s Seanita Scott, M.A. lectures on mental health stigma in the Black church
In August, CBT SoCal’s Seanita Scott, MA served as a guest lecturer for the William E. Pannell Center for African American Church Studies summer lecture series focusing on Mental Health and the Black Church. Seanita’s lecture, taking place at Fuller Theological Seminary, was entitled Mental Illness and Stigma in the Black Church. The focus of her talk, utilized to better equip clergy, theology students, psychology students, and other mental health providers, pointed to the ways that the Black Church can better facilitate their congregants utilization of mental health services without the barrier of stigma.
