  • OCD Awareness Week – Southern California Events

    What is OCD Awareness Week?

OCD Awareness Week is an international effort taking place during the second week in October each year to raise awareness and understanding about obsessive compulsive disorder and related disorders, with the goal of helping more people get timely access to appropriate and effective treatment. Launched in 2009 by the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation (IOCDF), OCD Awareness Week is now celebrated by a number of organizations across the US and around the world, with events such as OCD screening days, lectures, conferences, fundraisers, online Q&As, and more.

Southern California OCD Awareness Week Events

OCDSoCal, the Southern California affiliate of the IOCDF, has planned events for Saturday, October 4 from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm in three Southern California locations: Los Angeles, Irvine, and San Diego. Each of the sites invites you to a dual screening of the short films “UNSTUCK: an OCD kids movie” and “Oh Crappy Day”, followed by a Q&A and discussion of the films.  The CBT Center’s Director, Dr. Rodney Boone will be one of the discussants at the event in Orange County.
