CBT SoCal’s Dr. Jason von Stietz provides sport psychology services to collegiate women’s softball champions

Recently, the Whittier College women’s softball team won the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) tournament. They advanced to the NCAA Division III championship tournament where they defeated Claremont-Mudd-Scripps before falling to Linfield College. Their performance earned them 2nd place at the West Regional, which was hosted by Claremont-M-S.

Dr. Jason von Stietz has provided mental health and sport psychology services to the Whittier College women’s softball team for the past two years. Dr. von Stietz has provided mental health screenings and concussion consultations to the players. He has also provided team building and mental skills trainings to the team. Dr. von Stietz regularly utilized improvisational comedy exercises to help the team get comfortable feeling uncomfortable while continuing to focus on the task at hand.
