Dr. Hsia receives teaching award from USC Keck School of Medicine
This summer, Dr. Martin Hsia was the recipient of the 2023 Marcia Goin Volunteer Faculty Teaching Award at USC Keck School of Medicine. He has served in the role of Clinical Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences since 2020, supervising Psychiatry residents in their clinical training. Most specifically, Dr. Hsia supervises the residents on their therapy skills with attention to applying Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help patients with Anxiety, Depression, OCD, PTSD, Insomnia, and a range of other mental health concerns.
Dr. Hsia has also lectured and consulted for the residency program, most recently on the topic of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for Social Anxiety Disorder, and how best to empower sufferers to re-expand their abilities to interact with other people on a day-to-day level.
The teaching award reads “In appreciation of a faculty member who demonstrates joy in learning and discovery, expertise in psychiatric medicine, genuine concern and caring for learners, and dedication to building a professional community.”
