  • Lucy Kyupelyan, Psy.D.

    Dr. Lucy Kyupelyan earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), at Alliant International University, with a specialized focus in working with families and couples. She completed both her predoctoral and postdoctoral APA accredited internship at Heritage Clinic, an LA County Department of Mental Health contracted community agency.

    Dr. Kyupelyan has completed her doctoral training at the UCLA Semel Institute focusing on treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders. While at Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Dr. Kyupelyan has also assisted in a longitudinal study on Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) for treatment of Bipolar Disorders.

    Dr. Kyupelyan primarily works with adults and older adults treating a wide spectrum of disorders such as:

    • Anxiety (social anxiety, generalized, anxiety, panic disorder, etc.)
    • PTSD
    • OCD (contamination, harm, etc)
    • Depression
    • Sleep/Insomnia
    • Suicidality
    • Phobias (insects, vomit, driving, etc.)
    • Med compliant Bipolar D/O

    Dr. Kyupelyan uses the following evidence-based practices in both individual therapy as well as working with couples:

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
    • Motivational Interviewing (MI)
    • Exposure Response Therapy (ERP)
    • Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
    • Seeking Safety Practices

    Dr. Kyupelyan’s clinical interests also include intergenerational transmission of trauma amongst survivors of mass trauma and massacres. She also has the ability to conduct psychotherapy in both Armenian and English.
