CBT SoCal’s Dr. Jason von Stietz appeared on The Developing Athlete Podcast
The Developing Athlete with Coach C, is a new podcast hosted, Leslie Trujillo, M.A., a professor of kinesiology and strength and conditioning. She was affectionately given the nickname “Coach C” by her students and athletes before she married and changed her last name from Cordovo to Trujillo. In her role as a professor at Harbor College Los Angeles, she developed The Champs Program, a program meant to empower Harbor College student-athletes in the areas of academics, athletics, career development, personal development, and community service. Leslie edited the best selling book Dear Her, a collection of letters written by women to their younger selves containing messages of hard earned wisdom and encouragement.
Dr. Jason von Stietz was excited to appear on the podcast. He discussed his background as an athlete competing in track and field at Citrus College as well as his experience competing as a weightlifter after college. Then, Leslie and Dr. von Stietz discussed how to best help athletes cope with anxiety related to the coronavirus and continue to develop as an athlete.
