  • CBT SoCal’s Kiana Sadrosadat Presents at Compassion Focused Therapy Conference

Attachment-based rituals in families can hold a pivotal role in fostering strong family bonds. They encompass various activities or interactions with shared meanings and beliefs among all family members, reflecting the family’s identity. Examples range from everyday routines embedded with shared meaning to large annual celebrations that are connected to a family’s identity.

Presented by Kiana Sadrosadat at the 2024 CFT Student Led Conference, this research poster emphasizes the significance, cultural considerations, and clinical implications of attachment-based rituals in families.

Key areas in the presentation included:

    • The role of attachment-based rituals in enhancing family cohesion, fostering shared meaning, strengthening emotional connections, promoting secure attachment, and solidifying family identity.
    • Exploration of the ways attachment manifests differently across cultural contexts.
    • Understanding the influence of attachment style on our perceptions of self, others, and our world.

The poster thus advocates for the implementation of attachment-based rituals to nurture secure attachments in families. It underscores the importance of a holistic approach towards the application of attachment-based rituals by incorporating diverse cultural considerations.
